Read full description of the books:
I may not be the best person to review this book, as I don't read inspirational books. I thought this book was pretty weak. It was riddled with awkward prose, mispellings, and errors. Here's a quote: "...deep down inside I felt a volcano erupting. Some body was going to get some hot larva poured all over them." [sic:] It's painful. The guy is self publishing, I couldn't imagine a traditional publisher touching this book. The guy won't give up, I guess he has that going for him. He has a somewhat inspirational story I guess, just not the tools to tell it in an artful, interesting manner. He keeps talking about how many "play haters" there are in Hollywood. Sorry dawg, but I think you mean Player Haters, also known as Playa Haters. Lots of people hate plays but don't have anything to do with keeping you from accomplishing your goals. There are also concepts that are entirely not fleshed out at all in this book, like "The 'Snakelike' Philosophy" he says "Some of the most deadly snakes found in the world are metaphors to the attitiudes of most people known to all of us. I am sure you will agree." then lists a bunch of snakes and their traits, but fails to explain how those traits translate to how the "play haters" act. For example: "The Rattlesnake These snakes are usually out and about on warm nights looking for food. They attack mainly when cornered, echoing a sizzling buzz of their rattles." Well, perhaps I would agree, but I have little to no idea of what you're talking about. How do some of the "play haters" attack when cornered, and why is attacking when cornered "pay hating"? You say the cobra "...usually rear up to display a flattened neck that forms a hood and display their venom spraying capabilities", how does that metaphor work? Also there are several Tense Errors. A proofreader would be worth it if the intention of this work is to be taken seriously. I notice he has another inspirational book coming out explaining how he was able to write 8 books in a year. Well, the answer to that is write short books with mediocre content, awful prose, and tons of whitespace, and then selfpublish them all. Seriously most chapters are just a couple pages long, and there's a huge amount of whitespace at the beginings and most endings, plus the last 12 pages are ads for his other books. Theres about a good hour worth of reading in this book. All in all, keep trucking Mr. Andrews, I wish you the best. I'm not a "play hater", but neither am I a fan.
